MAT 130 - Math for Allied Health 3 Credit Hours
This course introduces math topics used in allied health fields. This course is appropriate for students intending to pursue the health sciences or health professions. Topics include arithmetic computations in health applications, algebra and geometry, ratios and proportions, metric system, apothecary system, household (English) system, conversion factors, dosage calculations, pediatric dosages, solutions and abbreviations, basics of statistics, graphing and graph interpretation. A scientific calculator is required.
Prerequisite(s): MAT 020 Basics of College Math or a higher-level math course with a grade of “C” or better or appropriate placement test score. This course can be taken concurrently with CHE 120 Principles of Chemistry.
