NUR 151 - Nursing II Introduction to Medical Surgical Nursing 8 Credit Hours
This course develops professional nursing practice knowledge of health and illness influenced by biological defense mechanisms, infectious disease processes, and chronic illness of adult clients. In this course, students apply the nursing process to manage the care of clients in diverse settings with an emphasis on critical thinking and leadership skills in the care of clients with acute and rehabilitative needs. Guided clinical experiences facilitate continued development of nursing care with an ability to apply theoretical concepts to professional practice.
Prerequisite(s): NUR 103 Physical Assessment and Application of Nursing Process (Must achieve a “C+” or higher)
Corequisite(s): PSY 130 General Psychology
BIO 280 Microbiology (Must achieve a “C” or higher)
