COM 097 - Academic Literacy I

4 Credit Hours

The course introduces the development of basic reading and writing skills. Students will begin to develop a sense of themselves as readers and writers and a sense of the elements that constitute effective academic success. Students will compose paragraphs and begin essay construction in response to expository texts.

Prerequisite(s): COM 017 and COM 019 or appropriate placement.
