NUR 201 - Introduction to Community Nursing


3 Credit Hours

Concepts of Community Health Nursing with an emphasis on health promotion and evidence-based practices will be discussed in this course. The course will explore health care economics, informatics, policy, and leadership. Students will use an epidemiological approach to assess community health and identify determinates of health within a community which may place individuals at risk for disease, disability, and premature death. 

Prerequisite(s): NUR 151 Nursing II Introduction to Medical Surgical Nursing  (Must achieve a “C+”or higher)

BIO 280 Microbiology  (Must achieve a “C” or higher) 

PSY 130 General Psychology  (Must achieve a “C” or higher)
