MAT 090 - Basics of Quantitative and Statistical Reasoning 3 Credit Hours
This one-level developmental mathematics course reinforces foundational numeracy for quantitative and statistical reasoning through guided, collaborative, and independent strategies. Using print and digital learning tools, students engage with practical scenarios, current events, and data to solve problems, justify solutions, and make informed decisions. Topics include fundamental statistics and probability concepts, conversions, decimals, estimation, fractions, integers, percentages, proportions, rates, ratios, rounding, and the use of formulas and algebraic equations.
