Science and Mathematics Division
Health Science is a broad, interdisciplinary field encompassing a variety of educational and career pathways. The Health Science degree is designed to prepare students with the foundational knowledge and coursework needed to enter a career in health care or to transfer into bachelor’s in health science fields such as” healthcare management/administration, public/community health, nutrition and dietetics, exercise science/wellness, and occupational/physical therapy.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of educational and career pathways in the health sciences.
- Describe the physiological systems in the human body and how major diseases and disorders impact these systems.
- Analyze the health behaviors, decisions and practices held by diverse individuals, communities and cultures
- Apply statistics and other mathematical methods to solve quantitative problems in health and science
- Design and submit an e-portfolio demonstrating personal knowledge, growth, educational, and career plan in the health sciences
- Perform laboratory technique needed in the health sciences
