Social Work, AA (Program may be completed online)


Social Sciences/Human Services Division

This program is designed to prepare the student to enter a baccalaureate program in Social Work on the junior level.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate foundational-level Social Work professional and ethical behavior.
  • Apply cultural competence, cultural humility and intersectionality to social work practice.
  • Explain the significance of policy practice in the social work profession.
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice which utilizes research from multiple disciplines in client interventions.
  • Articulate the ways in which the social service delivery system and social welfare policies impact client systems.
  • Apply an empathic, client-centered, mindful and recursive Generalist Social Work process.
