Social Sciences/Human Services Division
This program offers students planning to complete a Bachelors degree a broad knowledge base in the Social Sciences. Students can take electives from several Social Science disciplines or choose to concentrate in Anthropology, History or Sociology. Social Science majors can go on to pursue degrees and careers in anthropology, education, history, political science and sociology.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:
- Describe similarities and differences in the experiences of humans in diverse cultures over time and space.
- Interpret events in history using primary and secondary sources.
- Explain research methods in the social sciences.
- Evaluate findings derived from social science research.
- Apply different approaches in the social sciences to explain social issues.
