Business Division

The Information Technology Proficiency Certificate Program is designed to develop the skills necessary to install and maintain Windows-based computer systems. The knowledge gained from these courses will be helpful in entry-level Computer Repair and IT Support positions. Coursework may later be applied to an Associate in Applied Science degree if the student desires.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:

  • Explain how the components of information systems work together to collect, retrieve, process, store, and distribute information
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot personal computers and peripheral devices
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot comomon wired and wireless network devices
  • Creae integrated documents, worksheets, databases, and presentations suitable for coursework and professional purposes
