The Health Science, Associate in Science degree is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program that provides knowledge and skills that can be used in many health sciences careers. This flexible program provides a strong foundation in biological and health sciences and allows students to explore options in healthcare careers. Completing the Health Science transfer degree can advance a student’s education by preparing them to transfer into bachelor’s programs in health science fields such as nutrition and dietetics, exercise science/wellness, occupational/physical therapy, healthcare management/administration, and public/community health.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of educational opportunities and career pathways in various health science disciplines.
- Describe how biological, physical, and environmental factors can alter the healthy human state.
- Evaluate healthcare issues in organizations and society.
- Apply scientific and mathematical methods to gather, interpret and analyze data.
- Integrate biological and chemical principles and apply them to human systems.
- Demonstrate the working knowledge of lab techniques, lab safety, and experimental design.
