Pathway to Education College Certificate

The Pathway to Education Certificate is designed to provide students the opportunity to explore the Teacher Education Pathway. This certificate serves as a milestone in the journey to an associate degree and/or bachelor’s degree in education and teacher certification. All courses in the certificate will transfer into associate degree and bachelor in education and teacher certification. All courses in this certificate will transfer into associate degree and bachelor degree programs.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to:
- Analyze the historical, social, economic, and philosophical basis for current practice and trends in the teaching-learning process for the general education curriculum.
- Describe the impact of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) on teachers, students, parents, school systems, and society.
- Summarize patterns of human development and the teaching/learning process to meet the unique needs of students in planning for instruction.
- Develop professional disposition through the examination of the roles, responsibilities and characteristics of successful teachers to formulate a personal educational philosophy.
