HIS 120 - Ancient and Medieval Europe


3 Credit Hours

This course explores the foundation of European culture and institutions from prehistory to the beginning of the sixteenth century. Emphasis is placed on the relationship to people in their environment; the development and transmission of culture and cultural institutions; the rise and fall of empires; the rise of the modern state; and the experiences of various groups of people including women, religious and ethnic minorities, slaves and colonized people, and people of various socio-economic statuses.

Prerequisite(s): COM 098  or EAP 050  and EAP 060
