NUR 203 - Nursing III Care of Families 8 Credit Hours
This course introduces the concepts of the well child, care of the childbearing family, and adults and children with acute alterations in health and/or complex psychosocial needs. The nursing process is applied within specialized healthcare settings. Continued emphasis is on therapeutic communication, critical thinking skills, and the nurse as leader. Guided clinical experiences provide opportunities to deliver developmentally targeted nursing care to clients and families.
Prerequisite(s): NUR 201 Introduction to Community Nursing (Must achieve a “C+” or higher)
BIO 280 Microbiology (Must achieve a “C” or higher)
PSY 130 General Psychology (Must achieve a “C” or higher)
Corequisite(s): COM 151 Fundamentals of Speech
