THR 170 - Stagecraft

This course introduces students to the fundamental elements of stage scenic construction. The course focuses on measurement accuracy, tool safety, collaboration, and basic construction methods. Students will practice measuring, marking, and cutting wood to scale using standard shop tools. Emphasis is placed on hands-on experience with flat construction, platform framing, stair units, scenic blocks, door props, and paint treatments. Student work collaboratively in teams to complete all tasks.
