Science and Mathematics Division
This program prepares students to transfer into Bachelor’s engineering programs such that their first and second year science, math, and general education requirements have been completed. Depending on the students transfer college and specific Bachelor’s engineering major, the student may have two or three additional years of fulltime study beyond completion of this program in order to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree. Students pursuing this program should be motivated to apply calculus and additional upper-level mathematics courses to the theory of function and design of objects and devices.
Program Competencies
- Solve complex problems using calculus.
- Explain and predict the properties of objects, energy, sound, and electricity using physics.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data using the scientific method.
- Communicate scientific and mathematical information effectively.
