This one-year program provides students with the knowledge and technical skills needed to work in the field of sleep technology. Students will learn about human biology, sleep physiology, respiratory care, and the use of advanced polysomnographic equipment to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
The program is a hybrid, meaning students will complete the majority of their coursework online while attending in-person lab sessions one day per week. Additionally, students will gain real world experience through a 960-hour supervised clinical internship at a sleep center. The program is approved by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
Program Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate Competency in Sleep Study Analysis Accurately score, interpret, and analyze Polysomnograms (PSG) to compile comprehensive sleep reports.

Apply Critical Thinking in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Modalities. Utilize problem-solving skills to operate, troubleshoot, and apply sleep diagnostic and therapeutic equipment effectively.

Recognize and Document Sleep Physiology and Disorders - Identify and interpret EEG activity, sleep stages, key landmarks, and respiratory events to diagnose sleep-related conditions.

Perform Essential Polysomnographic Procedures - Conduct overnight sleep studies, titrate Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy, and ensure proper patient monitoring and data acquisition.

Demonstrate Professionalism and Ethical Patient Care - Exhibit ethical behavior, professionalism, and sensitivity when working with diverse patient populations in accordance with industry standards.
